How it all started -
Who or what is bumble-bee Englisch für Kinder?

In 1996 Sibylle Brendle opened an English school for children from the age of 3 in Stuttgart, one of the first of its kind in Germany. She was one of the most influential founders of private English lessons for children. On the basis of her long years of experience in the field of English for children and Early Learning, she developed an extremely successful lesson concept under the name of “bumble-bee”.

In 2003, Sibylle Brendle founded “bumble-bee Englisch für Kinder” with the bumble-bee English School and the bumble-bee franchise company in Stuttgart, along with “bumble-bee Publishing”, “bumble-bee Music Publishing” and “bumble-bee Records”.
The “bumble-bee English For Children 1” lesson material - which she created, developed and produced herself - appeared in the same year.

About us - Who is Sibylle Brendle?

Sibylle Brendle studied Visual Communication at the Fachhochschule für Gestaltung (College for Design) in Schwäbisch Gmünd and worked for several years as a graphic designer. Part of this time was spent working in an advertising agency in Milan, Italy. After this period she concentrated her activities on marketing and distribution, becoming self-employed in 1993. She dedicated herself to the marketing and distribution of products from different branches, and also developed and implemented advertising and marketing concepts, putting these into practice by carrying out training courses for firms.

She obtained her fluent knowledge of English from nine years at school and several stays in English-speaking countries. In 1996 she opened an English school for children and taught hundreds of children according to a mother tongue method. At the same time she built up, directed and supervised a network of several hundred English teachers for children all over Germany.
In 2003 she founded the "bumble-bee Englisch für Kinder" enterprise.

Trademark and Philosophy - What makes a bumble-bee fly?

Many years ago a good top-manager friend once asked me "Do you know why a bumble-bee flies, although according to the physical laws of gravity it shouldn't be able to?" The answer was, "A bumble-bee flies because it doesn't KNOW that it can't!"
I've often thought back to this story, and it kept occurring to me when I was looking for a name for my project.
I finally decided to publish everything connected with this idea under the trademark of "bumble-bee".

We don't know whether there is any scientific proof of the bumble-bee story.
But the thought appeals to me that we just learn things without thinking whether they are difficult or not… …with curiosity, a lot of fun, energy and a thirst for knowledge. Like children do…
